Hello iPad.

Jan 28

I woke up this morning to find 76 emails on my iPhone. Besides all the porn and spam (HAHA) I got this email from Apple entitled “iPad“. At first I thought it was a joke and of course I said it out loud like a Filipino immigrant. I opened the email already laughing to come to a jawbreaking-halt. This thing is AHHHHHHHMMMMAAAAZZZZZZIIIINNNGGG. With a capital AMAZING.

I’m a big believer and supporter of Apple products. I have an iMac, mackbook, a video iPod, and an iPhone. At first I thought if it was necessary to invest in this iPad because I have everything listed above but after watching the demo I fell in complete and utter love with this thing. It’s like an iPhone with STEROIDS. What really made me fall in love is the new store “iBook” it’s like an actual book where you just swipe your finger and the page turns. Everything on this thing is touch-screen with a pop-up QWERTY board.

iPad PROS:
- The pricing. The price starts at $499!!!
- 9.56 inches high, 7.47 inches wide, and 0.5 inches in depth.
- They weigh at 1.5 – 1.6 pounds. Depending on which one you get.
- You can get it in 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB.
- Fingerprint resisting coating.
- Battery power up to 10 hours.
Gosh there is so much that I can’t list.

iPad CONS:
THE ONLY THING IS THAT ITS NOT OUT FOR SALE YET!

I’m such a techy and a sucker for the new and upcoming things. I can’t wait to get my hands on a iPhone on steroids!

Newkon x Kallusive.

Jan 24

Have you ever heard of the brand Kallusive? Or the artist well-known as Newkon? If you haven’t, here is a brief bio about these guys.

Kallusive, founded by Alex and Michael took design on a shirt to a whole new level. They cater graphic designs to three different lifestyles, the hip-hop sneaker head, the flashy trend head, and the deep poetics. From my knowledge, I have first seen their design on a t-shirt in early 2009. Knowing nothing about the company, but knowing my instincts that the design was so versatile that it would go far. I myself, fell into the Kallusive wagon.

Newkon born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, showed much talent in his graffiti art. I would like to say that his art made him pretty well-known throughout the Hawaii graffiti scene. Newkon took his passion and talent for graffiti in a different direction. He didn’t practice it on the streets but showcased some of his work in various art shows, especially at one of my favorite places, Prototype. He also led a bunch of talented dancers together in form of a dance crew, Hypersquad.

This is me and Newkon at the launch of his t-shirt line that is being sold every where across the nation and maybe working itself through other countries. He’s a humble and nice person. He’s down-to-earth and a typical human being who makes mistakes and gets nervous in front of cameras. Haha. I’m glad that a local boy from Hawaii can make something of himself in the retail industry. I’m glad I met him and I wish the best success for him.

January 2010 RECAP

Jan 22

One of the downfalls in 2009 was that my dear Grandma passed away. Who knew that her passing would bring the Jove family closer than ever (the upside). This January has passed by really quickly. My nephew, Jalen, turned five years old, and my cousin Kristoffer (guy in the silver Stussy jacket and white Obey shirt) turned 26. Here’s one warning: If someone offers to buy you a drink called the “Gorilla Fart“, RUN, RUN AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN. Also, don’t piss off the waiters, they are bound to mess you up with alcohol. :)

The month is almost winding down and one of the biggest things happening this month is my Grandma’s funeral and wake service. Which starts today. If anyone who knows my grandmother (Mercedes Jove), can make it. Please come and support the Jove’s at Mililani Mauka Mortuary at 6PM. If not, God bless your family and take care of one another.

Pictures of the family during this time will be coming soon. My family is making it a thing to take more and more pictures.

We love you grandma <3

SNEAKER WHORE!

Stilettos, wedges, and slingbacks, I’m already 5’8″, I don’t want to be drag status! Lol.

Because of my height, I would love to share with you guys the most anticipated shoes of my 2010 :) Of course, this is just the half (I’m sure) :D

01. Jordan Spizzies in red, black, & cement.
02. Retro 1′s anniversary
03. Retro 1′s olive green perforated
04. Retro 6′s coral rose (which I’m still thinking about)
05. Jordan Spizzies in aqua, hotpink, and cement.
06. Jordan Spizzies in varsity red, blue, white “fresh 85″.
07. 60+ grapes
08. Jordan Spizzies in aquatone.

I’m bound and more-than-likely going to pick up all the spizzies of 2010. It’s my favorite fusion shoe!

Since it’s 2010, I figured it’s time for a layout change, eh?

HELLO 2010!

Jan 04

This year is only going to be as GREAT as you make it. Just because one snag happened in the beginning, doesn’t mean you’re starting off the year on the wrong foot. December 20, 2009, Sunday, is when my family lost one of the most important people in our family, the one who all gave us life, my grandmother. Her funeral is in January and I’m aware that it’s not the best way to start off the year, but we’ve decided to celebrate her life.

Again, this year is only going to be as great as you make it. I’m going to make it great. I really feel that this is going to be my year. I’m buckling down and working on that one new years resolution that everyone makes and rarely ever keeps up with, saving money. I already started in the beginning of the year and keeping up with it. I need to start thinking more about the future.

My New Year’s resolutions in a nutshell:
01. Saving money. I’m using a bank where there’s hardly ANY atm’s and locations.
02. Learning how to cook new things, including Filipino food that I love dearly. I just learned how to make this flat banana fried mochi’s! DELICIOUS!
03. Take more pictures of friends & family.
04. Spend more time with friends & family. Especially family.
05. See my parents more often. One of my cousins made a really great point. We need to start seeing each other on a monthly basis because we’d only get together whenever there’s something to celebrate, and there will be months where we don’t see one another. He thinks, and I agree, that my grandma would love it if we all got together more often.

My grandma passing made me realize and appreciate the time I have with my family. And that spending time with each other is important because you never know how long you have with one another.

I love my family, friends, coworkers, basically everyone around me. Have a happy 2010 people! LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST!
